The first two weeks of school have come and gone extremely quickly. Unfortunately with the Leadership class there is no time for any getting to know you stuff, we have to jump right in to event planning, poster making, working in the student store and more. Let me tell you a little secret... it doesn't end until June 10th.
I am sure many of you are feeling overwhelmed, or maybe you are excited about being part of everything that is going on. Tell me what you think about the leadership class so far. Don't worry about hurting my feelings. Just be honest. Your post should be about 4-5 sentences long. Then ask one question about the class. i guess i'm the 1st one to comment. what i think of the class was fun. the leadership log is kind of like my ACVID learning log last year. i want to ask what is the minium number for our flyers that we do for the weekends?
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited to be in leadership... but there is pressure. I think leadership class is really fun!! Plus, I love helping to plan out stuff for the school. I also like how there's only a little bit HW.

Leadership is really enjoyable. I love to help out and leadership is teaching me a lot about how to have fun and being a leader at the same time. Its fun planning things for the school. Helping out at the spirit events are also fun.

ReplyDeleteI was shocked to find out I was in Leadership when we got our schedule on registration day.But after 2 weeks of school,I can only hope for the best throughout the school year. Oh!! Some of my friends and I were discussing that video when we saw it last month.

So far, I am liking leadership this year. I love how I get to help out the school and the teachers. I loved spirit day and the D.J Blast because I loved watching my friends and schoolmates having fun and knowing that I helped make this possible. Spirit Count really helped me regain my self confidence. This is because in the beginning was kind of nervous, but later on, I figured that there was nothing to be nervous about and got all my confidence together and went for it.

ReplyDeleteI think this class is awesome and fun. I think it is also cool we get to semi-chose what we do in this class. I also have friends in leadership, so I guess that is a...bonus. So far this is my favorite class. However, there seems to be a little bit of pressure, but the class is worth it anyway.

So far in leadership, I am enjoying theese past 2 weeks. I love helping out for the fun activities we do. Leadership has also taught me many useful skills. It's really to bad not everyone can be in leadership. I know alot of people from Blandford want to be in leadership.

Hey Bottis, Im really likeing leadership, as always. You know its always a good feeling when you see something around the school or your just enjoying an event because you know you where apart of it and you where one of the few people that made it happen. Thats what its all about. There is pressure and stress, but u have to know how to controle it. Suprisingly its been really quiet, but it'll get louder. So...haveing a great time and hope it gets better!

So far leadership has been OK. Even though we have to put a lot of time and effort in this class its been worth it because the class is fun. I think the new leadership class has been going to be better than last year because our class isn't as loud so we won't be distracted all the time. I'm also looking forward to the rest of the year.

I think leadership this year is something special. I haven't been with this class for a long time and i didn't get to know all of the people, but i'm getting along pretty well with everyone. This class will get even more busier as time goes on, but i'm sure everyone will do just fine. I really like working with everyone in this class and i hope i get to know everyone better. ReplyDeleteHomework: On a weekly basis you have to turn in your leadership log.
Occasionally you will have to do flyers requested by a committee.
We have 4 projects a years which requires work at home.
As far as any other homework... depends what you don't finish in class. You are expected to successfully plan events. If class time is not enough time then you are expected to work on it at home.
Yes we will do the college project and the demo.
Not sure if we are going to Six Flags. Probably not.
We may have a few tests but not many.
After school time and hours is completely up to you. If you can plan an event or activity in the time during class then no need to stay afterschool. If you put in more than 55hours a quarter it is extra credit.
Helping teachers does not count as leadership hours if you are using it for something else like ABC or CJSF.

For these past few weeks, leadership has been pretty fun. I like working in our committies the best even though it requires lots of time. I think this class is going to be the best class for me thourghout the year.I also liked taking spirit counts.

So far I love how the leadership class helps to get me involved in school activities. Probably like most people who weren't in this class last year, I felt overwhelmed on my first committee meeting, and I do feel some pressure to continue making Alvarado a great school. But my excitement helps to balance out some of these feelings. Overall, the leadership class makes me feel more responsible ,as if in real if situations,but this class allows me to feel at ease because its fun to plan the activities.

ReplyDeleteLeadership has been a pretty crazy ride for me. After being told I was on the waiting list, I expected to enter after the 7th grade elections. When I got in earlier than planned, I was excited but a bit overwhelmed since I had to jump right into the class. That wasn't much of a problem though, since a bunch of my friends are in this class. Overall, leadership makes me feel more responsible and involved in the school.

Hey Bottis. Leadership has been pretty fun, and crazy. Running around, looking like a goofball is pretty funny. I mean, I was expecting to be in leadership after seventh grade ASB elections, but i got in pretty quick which was great! So far, the journey is going smoothly, having friends there by your side helping you out is just Great.

The class has been good so far. I think this year will be loud as last year, but maybe more higher too. The committee work felt simple but a little pushy, only because I never actually thought about red ribbon week events. Being in that committee for the class seemed to give me a heads up on what red ribbon may be like. Over all, the class seems to be on a bumpy path, but it will eventually smooth out. I wish to have a happy year with everyone!

The students in the leadership class are hard workers & we're all getting along great.I like the leadership class better than all my other classes.In this class,we actually get to share our opinions with another,learn how to be a good influence to the student body & have fun at the same time.Being in this class means being responsible,and I'm learning a lot.I enjoy being a spirit commissioner,and I'm actually not nervous for this year,I'm excited!

Leadership class has been great from the start.Its been fun gathering ideas for our committee, and staying after school while getting to hang out with new people. I think its really cool being able to help out the school activities and getting to say that you helped out.

I think the leadership class is starting out organized and everything so far. I think we would be able to continue to be like this for the rest of the year if we don't get lazy. I don't think there are really any problems with our class. I'm excited for the rest of the school year and I hope to plan and help out with the events that are happening in the rest of the school year.

I am very happy I made it to leadership. I think that leadership so far is pretty cool.i don't think that there are any conflicts in this years class. We all like each other and none of us fight. I think that the rest of the year is going to be a blast for all students. We are going to have a great time.

I think the leadership class is kind of the same as last year. Except that this year Mrs. Lucero is making us comment on her blog. The leadership log is the same as ever. But, this year there are new people and I'm looking forward to working with all of them at least once this year.

I really like leadership,and i feel extremely lucky to be in it. I remember trying to get in last year i didn't but leadership has taught me not to give up! I didnt give up and ran for asb and I thought I wouldn't have any chance of ending up as president, but here i AM! i think all of us get along really good and make a great class we dont have many problems and hopefully we wont. With this class I know this year will be unforgettable.
