Leadership Qualities

In your opinion, what is the most important leadership trait a good leader should have? Your response should include the trait, a definition(in your own words), and 2-3 sentences about why your think it is the most important trait. Also tell me if you think this trait can be taught/learned. I know it is hard to pick just one trait, because a good leader should have a lot of traits. Your response must be posted by Friday, Sept 18th @ midnight. Happy blogging.

  1. I think that being outgoing is an important leadership trait. Being outgoing means that it's easy for you to interact with people, but you don't get too crazy. I think this is important because you will be able to make a lot of friends. Also, it will help you become a good role model for everyone, because they all know you.

  2. In my opinion, respect is the most important leadership trait. Respect is treating everyone including yourself fairly and listing to what they have to say. I think this is important trait because with out respect we can’t work as a whole. Some people might also be afraid to share their ideas because of the way others treat them. Respect is also something that can’t be taught. Respect is something that you earn.

  3. For my opinion, I think a good leader should have the trait for responsability. As responsability shows the state of the person being responsible. I also think that this trait can be learned by others because every human has the possibility of being responsible with their own choice.

  4. In my opinion, I think that a good leader should have good responsibility traits and should always know what they're doing. This can be easily learned because every one has a simple say in this trait.

  5. I think the most important leadership quality is responsibility. I think responsibility is doing what you have to and not procrastinating or dawdling your task. To be responsible is to also be hard working because you have to be willing to do your task. i think it's the most important trait because if no one in your committee is responsible the committee will most likely fail to live up to their task. you also have to be responsible because being if you want to succeed in being a leader you have to be responsible and finish all of the tasks or assignments that are assigned to you. I think that responsibility can't be taught but you decide to be responsible or not.

I think responsibility can't be taught because everyone already has it but they choose to use their responsibility or not.

  7. I think no matter how outgoing you are, or how spirited you are, you should always have responsibility. To me that is the most important trait to have. To have responsibility means you finish your work on time and you are there to take your role. If you're a leader, there's great responsibility and you have to fulfill it. I think responsibility is something that people have but they might have a little bit or a lot. you might be able to teach people responsibility or learn it, but it's harder to unless you actually have some responsibility.

  8. I think that the number one leadership trait is to be responsible. Even though being outgoing is a close second, without responsibility, you would never be prepared and with everyone counting on you, your top priority would be to finish your duties as soon as possible because if you didn't you could ruin a carefully planned event. Responsibility,in my opinion, is to be in charge of your own actions and to keep your promises such as promising to research a topic for your leadership committee. Responsibilaty is also making sure you don't let others down so that they know they can count on you in the future. I don't think responsibility is something that can be learned because as long as your doing everything you should, your being responsible. If you think you need to learn how to be responsible, that's only because your not completing your job to the fullest potential and your slacking off. So overall, responsibility is the number one leadership trait because it means you work hard and try your best.

  9. Responsibility also gets my vote for the most important leadership trait - it is the ability to do your duties (hehe) right and have time on your side, meaning not procrastinating. A leader that is responsible knows what they are doing at all times and keeps track/is accountable of thier things. There's at least a little bit of responsibility in everyone - it's just that some people may need to be taught how to properly unleash it.

  10. In my mind, I think that you have to have the trait of responsibliity to be in leadership, because you are going to be planning a lot of the school's activity. To get the job done right, you have to work hard and focus on it becoming succesful.

  11. To me i think responsibility is the most important trait in leadership. It means that you are responsible for doing your part in a particular job and getting it done. Ever leader can be depended on and must accomplish their task until its donewhich includes working hard and doing your best.

  12. Being a good leader, I think responsibility is the most important trait. Responsibility meant for to be responsible, you need to do your own part and have to be finished. Responsibility can teach you how to be a responsible person and how to be a good leader with always do your best!

  13. I think a good leader should have responsibility as well. For me I think responsibility means that when there are things
that need to be done you should do it and not
complain and you should also do your best when your doing things that need to completed. I think it is important to have responsibility because people depend on other people who are responsible and not people who are lazy. I think this trait could be taught/learned because it can teach you to have more responsibility.

  14. I think the most important trait a good leader needs is responsibility. Being responsible means to complete the task that you are given. You have to follow through with anything that you say you are going to do. If everybody in the class is responsible, the events will turn out successfully. I don't think responsibility is a trait that can be taught or learned, but a trait that you decide on for yourself.

  15. In my opinion, I think that responsibility is the most important leadership trait. The word "responsible" has many meanings. For example,It shows that you are dependable, meaning that others can depend on you to finish a task on time, not fooling around. It means you are hardworking, which is showing effort in your work.Being responsible also means that you are trustworthy, not on someone for something they didnt do & always being honest.I say that RESPONSIBILITY is the most important trait that every leader should have.

  16. Like you mentioned, there are alot of traits a leader should have, but the one I think that stand out the most to me is aspiration. Aspiration means you have a goal or an aim that you want to exceed to. You can be acheiving a task setup for you, but you won't have much effort to it, but if you do everything with aspiration you'll want to make it good enough for yourself and others as well. Example like, if you decided that each commitee needs to think of an event for the school. We could just be effortless and just think of whatever. Yet with aspiration you'll take the time to make the event exciting. Aspiration can't be taught exactly, it's more of a choice that you yourself must make.

  17. I think that being responsible is an important leadership quality. To be responsible is to be hardworking, and dependable. Its important because if you have something that has to get done on time, you have to be responsible. Its also important because, if we have responsibility we can be more organized, which is good in this case. I believe that people can be taught to be responsible if they wanted to.

  18. In my opinion trust is the most important leadership trait. Trust is when you have confidence in a person and you can rely on them. I think that trust is the most important leadership quality because if you don't have trust then nobody is ever going to take you word. If you can't trust a leader then you never know if what they say or do is true. It is good if you can trust a leader because then you can know that they are a good person and that they will always do what is expected of them. This is why I think trust is an important quality in a leader.

  19. I think the most important leadership quality to have is knowing how to speak to others. It means respecting others when talking, so they can respect you back and it also means to be persuasive and stand up for what you believe in. In my opinion, it's important if you want somebody to listen to you or your ideas. You can't be really rude and expect people to listen to you and you can't be too nice and you should always bring out all your ideas. Knowing how to talk to people would make somebody a really good leader. I think this trait can be taught and learned by somebody who is a good leader.

  20. There are many traits that a good leader should carry. I think a leader should always carry the trait of respect and responsibility with them. Many people say that responsibility is the most important trait. However, I think differently.
I say that respect is the most important trait in a leader, because to be responsible, you would have to have respect. By having respect, I mean to be respectful and kind to others. I think its very important that you respect yourself, others, and property. This way you would not have too many problems, and it may teach you to be responsible.
For example, if someone does not respect their teacher, they probably would not do that teacher’s assignment. To compare that we may have another student that truly respects this teacher, and does the assignment. In these two scenarios the one with respect does the work and the one without does not. It shows that respect may be a cause to responsibility as an effect.
To conclude, my definition of respect would be ‘with care, politeness, well-mannered, and well-being’. It would be the most important trait in a leader in my opinion, because it reflects onto the other character qualities. I also believe that respect may be taught

  21. There are a lot of leadership qualities everybody needs. For example trust, responsibility , respect, and so on. I feel the most important leadership quality is caring. I think this because if you do not care how do you think you are supposed to put all your effort in your work. If you don't care then how would you be determined to do your best. Every leader needs to care for what they are doing and why they are doing it. That is why I consider caring to be the most important leadership quality.

  22. I think that there are a lot of traits a true leader should have. The most important quality that a leader should have is respect. I think respect is most important because people will see how respectful you are and will show respect back. Also respecting people will give a good impression to a crowd or even just your family.

  23. In my opinion, the most important trait a leader should carry is to believe in yourself and to always try your best.I know this sounds simple, but something little like this will take you very far. I think this because a person can't be a leader if they don't work hard and try their best at everything that they do. If you're not responsible, that could be taught over time, but motivating yourself has to be something you are born with. As an older person, nobody will constantly tell you to do all your homework, try your best, and study for tests. You will have to keep on reminding yourself that you will have to do it everyday, even if you don't like it. As a good leader, you can never say never to any work that has to be done because believing in yourself will make sure that you will accomplish what you need to do. I think there are many characteristics a true leader should have, but i think believing in yourself is one of the most important ones.

  24. The traits i think that is most important is responsibility and how outgoing you are, but mostly responsibility. I think responsibility is important because if you don't take responsibility then your not being a good leader. You have to finish all your work, and not complain about it, even if you have more work then others. The people in leadership should even be smart enough to do things that the teacher doesn't have to tell you about. You should be able to figure it out on your own. It's your responsibility to be in charge and know everything thats going around you. If someone needs help, help them, even if its a lot of work and you don't want to do it, because you know it doesn't matter your supposed to be a leader. Don't try to dump all your work on someone else, its your responsibility.

  25. One of my most important leadership trait is respect. Respect means that you listen to other peoples ideas and attempt to carry them out, but also make your own ideas and integrate theirs with mine. Respect is important because it means to listen to others ideas so you can get a better perspective of the school. That is where good leaders plan their ideas. Respect can not be taught because everyone can be respectful, it's just a choice in life to decide. It is also important because it creates a social connection between you and the people. It creates a social connection because when you are respectful to people, they'll gain more trust in you and will be more social which composes a social relationship. This results with better communication and increasing your outgoing ability. This is where respect connects with responsibility. Respect relates to responsibility because you get more organized by getting better communication and accomplishing your duties, such as attempting to carry out others ideas. Overall, I think respect is the most important leadership quality because it creates social connections, creates better communication, earns trust, earns the satisfaction of students by carrying out their ideas, being outgoing, and being responsible. There are some traits that are as much as important as being respectful.

  27. No matter how spirited or high energied you are, responsibilty is one of the most important leadership quality. Being "responsible" doesnt mean to just turn in your work, it means to get things done on time, not fooling around, and doing what you need to do.This trait will take some time to learn through out life, I'm starting to learn about it now. But it's not impossible.

  28. I think that the most important leadership skill is having good sportsmanship. What I think sportsmanship means that you have character and fairness to one another because people can be either bossy or not let other people do things. People should already have this trait because its part of life, but if they don't they should learn it by seeing other people having a character or fairness.

  29. I think the most important leadership quality is respect. Respect means to show honor and consideration towards others. Leaders need respect for one another, so they could listen carefully to eachother's ideas. If a sage is talking, like Mrs. Lucero, then you should cease talking immediatly so you could hear what she has to say. If you have respect for someone they will have respect for you. Good leaders have respect for others and also have respect back.

  30. I think the most important charatisic a leader should have is fairness. Everytime I think of a leader, I always assume that they're fair people, ones who doesn't cheat or steal ideas. Fair leaders always get respect from others and so that's a very good thing, they're just being themselves, doing stuff their own way. I want to be a leader who is fair and someone people can depend on, doing something the right way.

  31. I think the most important leadership trait is integrity. Integrity is doing the right thing even if no one would find out. Integrity encompasses many other traits such as, trust, honesty, morality, respect and responsibility.
Integrity is something that is ingrained into you. It is a value you possess. You learn it by watch other people you respect and trust.
Intentionally doing the right thing all the time is difficult. Our society has made it acceptable to try to get away with poor behaviors and actions. If you don't get caught... lucky you. If you do get caught then shame on you.
True leaders have integrity and are able to influence others to maintain their integrity.

  32. I think the most important leadership trait is responsibility. I think that this is the most important leadership trait because without responsibility, you can't be a good leader. When you're being a leader, you will need to be in charge of certain things and without responsibility, you people cannot rely on you.

  33. I think the most important quality a leader should have is caring. If a leader doesn't care about what his or her people want, then he is not a good leader. In order to be a good leader, one must think of all people's perspective and how they will react.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think the most important quality in leadership is responsibility.I think that because in leadership you need to do projects and events by yourself. The teacher gives you events to do and if you dont do them then you are not responsible.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think that the most important leadership quality is courtesy because i think that to be a leader who is respected by others also has to be courteous and kind to others. Being polite to others and elders is the best way to show that you are a good leader because it shows a sense of respect and that you are not a rude person.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think the most important leadership skill is trust, because to be a leader you have to be trusted by your followers. Trust also comes in with honesty when you are honest you will gain trust, and that is what makes you a true leader.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think the most important leadership skill is perspective, because being a leader you have to know how people will think about a problem. Then you'll want to know how you can solve it in a way they will be comfortable with. Perspective is always a good trait for others to learn so they can see how being a leader, you need to see how others think.
