We have 6 new 7th grade students in our class.
Janis Shin
Kassie Kao
Estel Nam
Sarah Chang
Zoe Hicks
Nancy Liu
They need someone to guide them as they enter our class. There are 6 of them and 30 of you.
They need to:
1. Set up a Google account so they can post on this blog.
2. Sign up for a committee. CLICK HERE
3. Find a quote about leadership. CLICK HERE
4. Post a comment on this blog letting me know who helped them and what that person did by Friday 9/17 at 10PM.
You do not have to post anything this week, but if a new student posts that you helped them then you will get a free post. I will explain on Monday!

ReplyDeleteKevin Choi helped me find this URL and told me what to do... Thank you!
ReplyDelete-Sarah Chang :]
Kevin Choi also helped me find everything I needed to find.
ReplyDelete-Nancy Liu :]
Wait if I deleted a post, do I get points taken off of the class or anything?
ReplyDeleteHey if you just got in ASB, do you have to pick up a new schedule in the morning because I'm not sure what my new schedule is going to be. Also, Mrs. Lucero said something about an Opportunity Assembly. What is that and what do I have to do for it? And when is it?
ReplyDeleteSo many many questions...
Good job Sarah. Glad you found the blog. I sent you an email about MOnday. You will get your new schedule on Monday in your first class (Not Homeroom) During homeroom let you teacher know that you made it into ASB and you need to go to the opportunity assembly. Ask other ASB kids what they are wearing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kevin for helping Sarah and Nancy!
To Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteIf you delete a post or don't post at all, you don't get points off. It's not homework or anything, it's just a way to express our ideas and ourselves since we don't have enough time in class. ^-^

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all the 7th graders that made it into ASB/Leadership! I hope that this year will be a great one.
ReplyDeleteand kassie, since you don't have the asb shirt or the leadership shirt,
i think the 7th graders should just wear a spirit shirt
yaay congratulations!!! :D
ReplyDeleteyipee!!! congratulations to all seventh graders who made it to ASB (or leadership)
ReplyDeleteKevin Choi is so helpful ^-^. Didn't Mrs. Lucero say something about extra credit points if we help the new asb members?
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS to new people in asb and leadership. It is soooooo much fun, but you also need to stay on top of things. Also hope you guys like it in asb/leadership....i know i do :)
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS 7TH GRADERS WHO MADE IT TO ASB AND LEADERSHIP. You'll have so much fun and you'll make a LOT of friends. But, it isn't all fun and games, when we need to get serious, you REALLY need to get serious. Don't worry, you'll get used to it.(:
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS 7TH GRADERS! I can't wait to be working with you guys this year! Well, as you all know, we have the blog that Mrs. Lucero will be posting every week. It's a way where we can get class input on school activities, or how to build up a strong leadership class. Another thing big thing of our class is committees. Each committee has a main focus each quarter. My one suggestion is to be open minded in your committee, don't be shy about your ideas. This isn't a place where you get graded on what you think, it's graded on your input and participation. Speak up, we really want the suggestions. Also, whenever an idea comes up, always have Mrs. Lucero approve of it, because these activities effect alot of our school, so you want someone as pro as her to approve! (: AND FINALLY! Enjoy your time here in this class, cherish it. And don't forget the school spirit!!
ReplyDeleteLETS HAVE A GREAT YEAR 2010-2011 LEADERSHIP CLASS!
YAY!! Congrats 7th graders! I hope you find leadership fun. Remember that you are a role model for other students. So be a good role model for other people to follow:)
ReplyDeleteOk new 7th graders. You may be confused about the leadership logs. So here's an explanation.
ReplyDeleteEvery quarter, you are to do 55 Leadership Hours. Basically, you get hours for doing tasks that help the leadership class. Don't worry though, because 45 hours you get from being in class every day. You just need to do ten extra hours. (student store, after school, school activity research, ect.)
The top of the log asks you what you and your committee want to accomplish that week. Basically, you write what you guys are doing or if guys aren't doing anything, just say your committee does not have anything to do this week. Then the second question asks, out of leadership, what activities will take up your time. If you have a test/ benchmark that week, write it down. That way, Mrs. Lucero will know and control the work level. Also if you have after school activities, sports, clubs, ect. write it down.
The bottom portion is like a summary of your week. Did you finish what you had hoped? If no, explain why. Maybe because of some conflict. be sure to explain. And the next steps your committee is working on? You're basically planning what you are doing the next week.
And finally, be sure to write your hours in decimals.
.25= 15 minutes
.50= 30 minutes
.75= 45 minutes
1.00= 60 minutes/1 hour.
Flyers assigned in class don't count, and the blog doesn't count either.
Hopefully this has helped you out, if you have any questions, you can just comment and ask, or ask me in class! (:
it seems that i was to late to follow your CONGRATS to me and the other seventh graders
ReplyDeletethe people who deserve EC for helping me understand leadership are Ashley, Keven, and i think i forgot somebody. If you are that somebody plz tell me so i can prove to Bottis that you deserve EC too THX
CONGRATS esp. Zoe and Nancy (howd you GET ACCEPTED into leadership if you werent VOTED in?)
Zoe and Nancy got into leadership because in leadership we needed to have 6 more people which would've been the new ASB people.
ReplyDeleteBut two of those ASB people were already in leadership, so Mrs. Lucero hand-picked Zoe and Nancy herself
