  2. I want to be in leadership because I want to express myself, somehow, by helping and leading others in school. Also leadership will help me become a more outgoing and fun person to others. :D

  3. I want to be in Leadership because I would like to help give the students a voice in Alvarado. Leadership is a great example for us to become Alvarado's student role models. I also want to be in Leadership because it can give me a lot of leadership skills that I would like to have. Sometimes, I'm shy, but I would like to learn how to be more outgoing instead of being timid.

  5. I want to be in Leadership because I feel I can do something for the students at Alvarado. I also think it'll help me in the future because I am learning many skills and qualities that are very important. I think that many of the things that I will learn in Leadership will only benifit me.

  6. I want to be in Leadership because i want to be helpful to the students at our school. I want to be able to let them comment on what we do truthfully so that they can be the ones expressing themselves and have everyone be happy and have fun with the events that we do at Alvarado.

  7. I believe I can give more to the school. I want to become a better leader and not a follower. The skills I learn in class, is what I can use outside of school also. Leadership class has a lot to offer and I want to be able to use that opportunity to help Alvarado become more spirited and involved with all the activities.

  8. I want to be in Leadership because I want to learn how to be more independent, especially since I am new here. I can't always rely on my sister. When I become an eighth grader, I want to be a role model to others. In the future when I am an adult, it'll help me get through life in an easier way, knowing what to do, like a leader. Being in this class would help me in becoming a person who could help others instead of me needing the advice.

  9. I want to be in leadership because I want to further refine my leadership skills like being more outgoing and less shy. Being the leader of the school and representing it in the best way possible is important to me. I also want the students to have a voice in what we choose to do so they don’t think that we don’t care about them.

  10. I want to be in Leadership because I want to improve my time management and also enhance my leadership skills. I also believe that I have a lot to give to the students at our school that would make their school year just a bit better.

  11. I want to be in Leadership because I want to enhance my leadership skills. In the past I have been selected as a leader many times. However, they have always been for minor projects or presentations. I feel that Leadership can give me a chance to actually help lead something that can make a difference. Whether it is improving my fellow students' school experiences or helping the school go green, I want to help make Alvarado Intermediate School better for everybody!

  12. I want to be in Leadership because it builds a strong character and helps you develop time management and organizational skills (even though we can get hectic at times). It creates an example for other students and makes me feel like a better person. Being in Leadership gives me a chance to speak out to the rest of the school through a variety of events, fundraisers, and Spirit Days. Everything we do, we make an effort and strive to do the best we can and we don't stop until the end. Leadership teaches me the foundations of being a good person and a good leader, as well as showing everyone a different side of yourself. Lastly, we make the school an interesting and fun place to learn!

  13. I want to be in leadership because I believe this class will help make me more of a leader. At times, I can be pretty shy, so I hope speaking in front of students will help me become more of a outgoing leader instead of being quiet and timid.I also believe that I have a lot to offer to this school. For example, I feel that the students of Alvarado should be able to speak their ideas "out loud" instead of holding their ideas back. Many students with great ideas often keep quiet because they are scared that their ideas will be rejected. I want to be the leader that listens to what everyone has to say, and doesn´t shoot their hopes or ideas down.

  14. Sorry this is kinda late.

I want to be in Leadership because I want to learn how to push aside my nervousness of speaking in front of new people. I also hope to learn more leadership skills. Hopefully, I'll learn to be more organized and neat from cleaning the Student Store. I want to help Student Store promote sales and money to raise more money for ASB. Finally, I want to help make this school a more enjoyable place for fellow students. C:

  15. I want to be in Leadership not only for myself, but so I can help my school and others as well. I feel that, by joining Leadership, I can do my part in helping the school. I feel that my experiences in Leadership so far have been very rewarding and have made me feel proud of myself. Before joining Leadership, I was scared to death of public speaking and would not do it for all the money in the world. But because I wanted to feel what it would be like to help students--because I didn't want to regret my actions ten or twenty years down the road--I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try to join the amazing Leadership community, and I'm happy to say that I succeeded. As a result, I am not so deathly afraid of public speaking as I was before (but I still get nervous!), and I can now gather up the courage to say hi to people I don't know instead of huddling in my corner as I did last year. I hope that, by being in Leadership, I can help make the students' life happier and less hectic than it already is, because everyone needs a chance to relax, right? I also hope that they will get to tell all of us their ideas for the school so that they will know that they have contributed to Alvarado and gain some more Matador pride. I want this year to be a year that they'll recall fondly; a year that they'll say they enjoyed; a year that they'll be glad to have been in our school. And lastly, I want to be the one who helps everyone else in every way that I can. I know that I will not always be helpful, and that I mess up, but I will give my all at everything I am entrusted with. I hope that we can all have a wonderful year together, too.

(Sorry for the EXTREMELY long post. I guess I sort of got carried away...And I'm sorry that it was late. :D)

  18. I want to be in leadership because i love being able to do things for our school to make it fun for the students. Also because i LOVE to work and be busy!:D I enjoy being able to help with everything we leadership students do. I also want to be a role model to other students and help them over come their fears of being shy and giving things a shot once in a while. I am also pretty creative so leadership is a place where i can share my ideas. Lastly i think it is just plain fun how we work together and become an Alvarado family! (:

  20. I want to be in leadership because i would like to make Alvarado more fun for me and other students. I'd also want to learn how I can be a better leader by listening and observing other students that have more experience in this class than I. Leadership is also a class where I can make new friends and socialize. I'd also want to learn how to be more of a role model to other students. Being a leader is important to me, and this is a class where I can perfect that skill while having fun and helping out the school.

  21. I want to be in leadership because I want to make school a funner, enjoyable place. Last year, I learned many new things, like leader skills and how to take criticism. I enjoy to be productive, and help out. Leadership changed how I am, I used to be extremly shy, but I'm getting better. Also, I'm spirit commissioner. I am responsible for something big, it may be scary, but I like the feeling of being in charge of events (with my co-commissioner ofcourse).

  24. I want to be in leadership because I want to become a role model for my fellow students. I also want to know some leaderships skills so I can use it someday. Also I want to make the school year more exciting this year for 7th graders and 8th graders so, they will leave this school year with memories to remember. So I promise I'll try my best this school year by being a good role model to my fellow students and make this the best school year for everyone to remember. :)

  25. I want to be in leadership because I want to speak in front of others without getting that nervous. I will also learn leadership skills in this class. I want to be a role modle to other students. I think is good for students to share ideas, because they will feel more included.

  26. I want to be in leadership so I can improve my leadership skills. Also, I like to make other people at our school be happy and enjoy being at school. I want people to have something to remember when they think back to their middle school years in the future. Another reason is because I like to be part of a team. In leadership, we may have different jobs at times but we all work together to get something done. Most importantly, leadership gives me a challenge and will help me improve a lot over all.

  27. I want to be in leadership to help Alvarado be a fun place for learning. I want to work on my leadership skills and learn from the 8th graders how to organize events. Leadership is going to help everyone have an awesome year at school.

  28. I want to be in leadership because I want to be heard. I don't want to be another face in a crowd. Another reason i want to be in leadership is that I am a leader and be a part of making changes. I will never be a follower, I am a leader who likes to be an active participant.
